♡ Cake Balls | Valentine's Day Treat / Gift Idea ft. Cluttered Rack♡

 Hello There Everyone!
Valentine's Day is around the corner. Who says you need a boyfriend/girlfriend for Valentine's Day? Hahaha oh come on, its a day where you show how much you love somebody like your friends or even your family! So here i am today to show you how you can make Cake Balls for Valentine's Day! ^_^ It is really easy and it can also be a nice gift for someone you love!

It was initially a cake pop recipe but i couldn't find lollipop sticks nearby so i decided to change it to cake balls instead. It is exactly the same except using lollipop sticks for cake pops, you use cupcake liners instead for cake balls. And also, i did a small batch of this only for this blog post therefore its the reason why i used small portions of ingredients.

SOOOOO LETS GET STARTED!

♥ Ingredients/Things you will need:
♥ Cake of any flavour you'd like, that have been baked according to a cake mix/boxed cake or from scratch.
♥ Any flavour of frosting of your choice either from scratch or store bought.
              ♥ White chocolate bars/candy melts/candy wafers
              ♥ Red food colouring
              ♥ Cupcake liners
♥ Sprinkles or anything you'd like to use for decoration
              ♥ A big mixing bowl
♥ Toothpicks ( not in the photo because i forgot about it :P )

  STEP 1:
Crumble up the cake into fine crumbs. I personally think using your hands is really the best way.

By fine crumbs, it should look like this.

  STEP 2:
Add the frosting into the crumbs a little add a time.

Once again, best way is using your hands ^_^ But of course, don't forget to wash your nails thoroughly and cut your fingernails if you need to!

By adding the frosting a little at a time, you should reach the right consistency that can hold a a big ball shape.

  STEP 3:
Roll out the cake mixture into balls.
After rolling out all of the cake balls, store them in the freezer for about an hour for it to firm.

 STEP 4:
While its in the fridge to firm, start melting your white chocolate. You can use candy melts/candy wafers instead but if you don't have them, white chocolate will do the trick too. If you are using white chocolate, break it into small bars for it to melt easily.

Depending on your microwave, melt the chocolate using a microwave safe bowl in the microwave for about 30 seconds, stirring between each interval. Add vegetable shortening or vegetable oil little by little to adjust the texture. It should should be a little runny.

 STEP 5:
Take out the cake balls that have been sitting in the fridge. Insert toothpick to every cake ball.
The photo below showed some heart-shaped ones which i reshaped after taking photo of it in the earlier steps but you can do heart-shaped ones if you would like to! But bear in mind it cannot be placed into the cupcake liners so i suggest getting lollipop sticks and making it into cake pops instead! ^_^

 STEP 6:
Dip your cake balls into the white chocolate . Use a long cup to submerge the cake balls fully into the white chocolate to get it all coated. If you would like to, you can dye the white chocolate with red food colouring to make it pink for valentine's day. After dipping them, remove the toothpicks. When dipping the cake balls, let the excess drip off . I would've actually preferred to place it straight onto the cupcake liners after dipping because i think it would be hard to remove them from the plate once it has been harden, especially if you are not using wax paper.

 STEP 7:
Add sprinkles and decoration to the cake balls. You can also even drizzle some chocolate on top. After that, leave it in the fridge to harden and set for hours. For as long as possible or even overnight is the best.

 STEP 8:
After its been out of the fridge for hours, remove it from the plate and place it onto the cupcake liners. Its quite difficult removing the cake balls from the plate as it might break (like it did for mine) that was why i suggested placing it straight onto the cupcake liners after dipping them in the chocolate.

 STEP 9:
This step is optional but if you would like to give it to someone as a gift, place them into nice cute bags!

This is how it looks like when you bite into it.

And there you go, how to make cake balls!

Pretty easy right? This is the first time I've made this so if i could do it, you can too! ^_^

Do tell me or show me a picture of your cake balls on my social medias/email if you've made it, i'd be so happy to see it!!

Habitat Coffee

 Hello There Everyone!
I went out last few weeks with my close friend, Bridgitt! I'll be separating my blog posts into two parts of the day and part 1 will be this, whereas part 2 will be about what i did that entire day at S.E.A Aquarium along with a vlog so keep a lookout for that! :D

We went to to Habitat Coffee café to have our brunch.

The café was fully crowded so we sat outside but it was fine as we actually wanted to sit outside at the very first place to take good lighting photos of the food HAHAHA!!

Everything on their menu sounds so delicious i had a hard time choosing what i want >_<

I chose Eggs Benedict as i have never tried it before. Coincidentally Bridgitt wants Eggs Benedict too so we ordered the same thing. But that's not all, we also ordered Hello Truffle fries and shared it ^_^
Eggs Benedict
[ Poached eggs & honey glazed ham on sundried tomato bread topped with homemade hollandaise sauce ]

The eggs benedict was really nice. Super in love with the salad by the side. The salad dressing is nice and sweet, extremely love it! The eggs are well cooked and the holladaise sauce is nice. But i think the sun dried tomato bread are a little bit too salty for my liking but overall it isn't that bad as you eat it along with the poached egg together with the hollandaise sauce :-)

Best part for me was the yolk!! Who else loves runny egg yolk? I extremely love it!!

 Hello Truffle
[ Truffle fries dressed with fine grated parmesan ]
Out of everything my favourite has to be the hello truffle fries!! So crispy and love the added grated parmesan. Love it when my fries are cripsy on the outside and really soft in the inside and that turned out the way i liked it ^_^ Really recommend you to try this out if you drop by!

Overall the food is nice and i would love to go back to try other food! ^_^
